What does Apple Cider Vinegar Do Exactly?
Supplement Geek Spotlight Hello BOSS family, I have the pleasure of talking to you today about a miraculous product, Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)!ACV has too many uses to talk about but I will do my best with some of the more common ones. I will note that there hasn't been a serious amount of scientific research done with ACV but I will share my research. Two things that ACV is known to contain are:1) antioxidants2) bacteria/probioticsCommon uses are:1) Digestion/indigestion- the "mother" is a major part of ACV. It contains both fermented apple and pectin (fiber). This combo helps keep our guts at a proper balance. - ACV also will help digest a high calories meal such as a cheat meal more efficiently. Dosage- 1-2 tbsp a day mixed with cold water.2) Sore Throat- if you have a sore throat or are getting one, ACV has bacteria killing properties. Bacteria can not live in such an acidic environment. -it will not kill any systemic bacteria but for surface it works wonders. Dosage- 2 tbsp in warm water and gargle every hour.3) Heal Bruising- rubbing a cotton ball with ACV on bruises will help them dissipate and heal fast. - it has the potential to look worst at first but will improve by the next day.4) Helps Control Blood Sugar- ACV could help keep blood sugar in balance and has an antiglycemic effect. - one study showed that type 2 diabetics who weren't taking insulin, would take 2 tbsps before bed and wake up with lower glucose levels.- another study showed that ACV and water prior to a high carb meal had lower blood sugar after said meal.5) Liver Detox- ACV is found in most detox protocols.- 1 tbsp 5x per day in water for 2 weeks.Other uses:- cure bad breath- reduces nighttime leg cramps- clears acne - clears dandruff- could lower cholesterol- could aid in weight lossLastly, you always need to dilute AC. It can harm you tooth enamel when consuming it so dilute it.I take ACV everyday. 2 tbsps in cold water in a shot glass and yes you get use to the taste.Hope we learned something today. Cheers
