What is a Glucose Disposal Agent and how does it help me lose fat?!
Supplement Geek Spotlight Hello BOSS Family! This week we are going to talk about glucose disposal agents (GDA). Let's see if I can shed some light on a fairly underutilized product.GDA's primary function is to decrease the amount of insulin secreted by the body when consuming carb-rich meals. They mimic insulin in the body and shuttle glucose into muscle cells. This inturn causes less insulin to be released by the pancreas.Insulin is very beneficial for carrying glucose to muscle cells. The downside is that it is also very efficient in moving glucose into fat cells. By decreasing the amount of insulin secreted by the pancreas, it will help optimize insulin receptors and aid in decreasing fat gains.GDA's are best utilized with high carb meals. Pre-workout meals tend to be the highest carb meal for most people (like myself), taking a GDA will shuttle those carbs into my muscles which will help with growth, recovery and your "pump" should be more intense as well. Glycogen storage equals longer pumps in the gym. This being said, you can take a GDA with every carb meal if you want. It will help digest a high carb diet with more controlled body fat gains (Fluff control). Some common ingredients found in either GDA blends or single ingredient products are:- R-Alpha-Lipoic Acid (R-ALA)- Chromium- Berberine- Cinnamon barkGeneral rule of thumb is 1 capsule per 50g of carbs. (In my opinion, if you have a meal that has 60-70 grams, I would still only take 1 capsule. If you get closer to 100g then you can take 2 capsules.) You would also take your dosages 15-20 mins prior to your meal.I hope I shed some light on a very interesting and useful product.
